Pay in full
Full payment up front is our preferred option, to help us cover the cost of getting the farm season started. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Register online through our Grownby storefront then select your payment method.
For offline payments, checks can be made out to Mavourneen LLC and mailed to 8652 South Rockport Road, Bloomington, IN 47403. Cash payments can be brought to our farmers’ market booth April-May.
If you prefer to pay with a credit card, please consider the option to cover the cost of card processing fees– there should be a little box to select at check out. This helps us to offset the extra expense of offering convenient online payment.
Pay in Monthly Installments
Members must pay online to utilize this option. A non-refundable deposit is due at sign-up for most options. The remaining cost of the share is then spread out across monthly payments that are automatically processed each month during the share session.
Full Season Share, Weekly: $400 deposit, then auto-pay $100 monthly May-December
Full Season Share, Biweekly: $200 deposit, then auto-pay $50 monthly May-December
Seasonal Share, Weekly: $100 deposit, then auto-pay $108.34 monthly for three months
Seasonal Share, Biweekly: $50 deposit, then auto-pay $54.17 monthly for three months
Low-income Share: NO deposit required, auto-pay in full, monthly, or weekly installments
Pay with SNAP/EBT
We have been working with the USDA & Marketlink for almost a year to get our online store setup for automatic EBT processing. Unfortunately, bureaucracy is slow and this system is not yet set up but we do have a work around in the meantime. SNAP users can order weekly shares from us through our online store, selecting as many or as few dates as they would like, and then bring their EBT cards to pick up each week to run their card in person. If you have questions about this process or would like to be notified when our online EBT payment processing is set up, please send us an email.
WHAT’S IN A SHARE
We strive to produce extremely high quality, beautiful, nutrient dense food. Each week share members will receive 7-10 produce items. Since our vegetables are harvested and distributed at peak freshness, most items should have a shelf life of 7-14 days or more, if kept according to ideal storage directions.
Weekly shares are best for medium sized households that cook regularly and eat a vegetable forward diet.
Biweekly shares are best for smaller households and individuals who want less vegetables. This share contains the same amount of produce as weekly shares but pickups occur every other week.
Our goal is to include a well rounded mix of the following categories each week, as they are seasonally available, for a variety of flavors and meal options:
Leafy Greens: arugula, asian greens, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, collard greens, escarole, frisée, kale, lettuce, radicchio, salad mix, spinach
Herbs: basil, cilantro, celery, dill, fennel, ginger, oregano, parsley, thyme, sage
Alliums: garlic, leeks, onions, scallions
Summer Fruit: cucumbers, eggplant, sweet & hot peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, watermelon
Legumes: beans, peas
Roots, Tubers & More: beets, carrots, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, turnips, winter squash
While we grow over 40 different crops, and many different varieties within this, availability will vary across the seasons. Spring shares will be heavy on tender greens, like kale and lettuce, and may have fewer items at the start and more variety later on. Summer shares will include a lot of fruiting crops like cucumber, eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes. Fall will have the most abundance, with the return of greens and the arrival of storage crops like potatoes and winter squash.
Note that there may be crop losses throughout the year that are beyond our control, so we do not guarantee the availability of every item planned for production. CSA members agree to share in the risks inherent to farming.
WHAT COMES WITH MEMBERSHIP
In addition to fresh food weekly, CSA members will also:
Become members of a community that directly supports young farmers and ecological land stewardship in Monroe County. We have been growing vegetables for more than 10 years here in Bloomington and have been deeply involved in building a vibrant, life serving local agricultural system that is sustainable for the land and the people of this region.
Have a direct connection to the people who grow their food. This relationship provides transparency in a food system that is increasingly difficult to navigate. Our farm team will greet you at distribution each week and happily answer any questions you have about our production practices or how to use a particular ingredient.
Receive weekly newsletters with a harvest list, recipes, cooking tips, photos & stories from the farm, and more.
Get invites to on-farm tours and events. Dates TBD for the 2025 season.
Receive special access to sales and bonus crops.
